Ribbit Double-Take Hook

Often the simplest of great ideas aren't the most
obvious. Fortunately for bass anglers, well-known lure-
maker Lonnie Stanley and colleague John Hale applied
that logic in creating the “simply-genius” Ribbit Double-
Take Hook. Two hooks are better than one, for hooking
and landing big bass!

The Ribbit Double-Take Hook is specially designed to
fish with Stanley Lures' Ribbit soft bait and works
wonders with other frog-imitation soft lures as well. Bass
tend to strike violently at the “racing” frogs that run
across the top of the water, and will often miss a single
hook. The Ribbit Double-Take Hook with its longer shank
and two points doubles your chances of hooking up,
says Bassmaster Classic veteran, Stanley.

It's longer than other hooks, allowing the tips of the two
hooks to penetrate lower within the legs of the Ribbit
frog. The churning legs of the frog grab the fish's
attention and are often the target of the strike. The
added length to the shanks of the hooks greatly reduces
the likelihood of the fish missing the hooks.
The Ribbit Double-Take not only hooks more bass, but almost guarantees that you will boat that
big fish as well. Often, according to Stanley, the Ribbit frogs are being thrown in very thick grass
and lily-pads. That is where many fish are lost on a single hook after hanging up in the weeds.
“When you whack 'em with those two hooks, you are setting both hooks into the bass's lips. The
fish won't get off, even in the thickest of cover,” says Stanley. “With the Ribbit Double-Take Hook
the chances of pulling the bass out of heavy cover and grass, goes up 100 percent.”

The two-hook design of the Ribbit Double-Take also solves one of the bigger problems of fishing a
soft-frog bait. “With a single hook the frogs want to roll over, especially when they are going fast,”
says Stanley. With a hook in each leg of the frog, the bait is more balanced as it's being pulled
through the water and less likely to roll over.

The Ribbit Double-Take Hooks are available weightless
or with Stanley's patented Wedgehead system. The
weighted Wedgehead offers several advantages. The
1/8 oz Wedgehead makes it easier for longer casts.
Also, the wedge-shaped head actually holds the hook
up at a 45-degree angle as it planes across the water.
“But, the best thing about the Wedgehead system,”
says Stanley “is that it actually plows through weeds
and lily-pads. It pushes the grass out the way, allowing
the bait to come through the water.”
